I took a personal money order today and call the number on it and it said it was real. Should I have anything to worry about?
This is a legitimate number. I work for a different bank and call this number pretty regularly to check the validity of the items. That is not to say that the item you received it legit. Fraudsters are pretty smart now a days and will give you real bank numbers to throw you off. I just happened to be searching for this number online and saw this board. So it's a real number but if you question your item you can check with the bank listed on the check. Wells Fargo checks have an address on the bottom left. Search that addy on Wells Fargo. com and they can validate issuance. Also, if you bank at another financial instituation, most banks will be happy to assist you by calling themselves if you question it.
I got a fake personal money order for 'wells fargo bank' with this phone number on it - I confirmed with wells Fargo that it's a forged check.
I also got a cashier's check from Wells Frago Bank, Newark, CA with the phone # 480-394-23122 on it.
I did not receive call from this number, I was given thins number by a Wells Fargo Customer Service Rep and told to call it and give my account number and SSN to check on a cashier's check that was ordered through a VALID request by me. Why was I given this number and told to give my account info? I DID not call it and give out any info - I did a search on the number FIRST! I am very upset with Wells Fargo
You need to reorrt to Wells Fargo the unreliable , uninformed and perhaps, just plain lazy customer service representative. that told you to to call that number.
i have a personal money order from wells fargo bank, and this no.480-394-3122 is on the m/o. for inquires. should i take it into the bank to verify if this is legit before cashing it. or should i call the number on the m/o which is the same? or shoud i take it to the bank for them to check this out first?
