I received a voicemail from 1-(503)484-2475. Two male voices were at first talking at once. One was live and the other recorded. I believe the recorded voice was asking for me to accept the call or it would be disconnected in 15 seconds. The other person was saying something briefly, a word or two that I didn't understand. I could hear him waiting, breathing sniffing, until the fifteen seconds were up. The line did disconnect as it said it would. So I wondered if this call was a misdial from a jail or prison. So I called it. It was answered by an automated system that said "this is an unmonitored line" and said if I'd received a call from the number to check my voicemail and follow the instructions. Of course there were none because there was a person waiting for me to a cept the call, instead of a set of instructions. I still wonder if this was a misdial from a jail or prison landline somewhere in Multnomah County, Oregon. Carol's comment and others below seem to be consistent with this theory. So I still wonder, are these incarcerated people with operators that misdial? I'm any case, after satisfying my curiosity to the limit of my ability, I blocked the number.
Did not pick up, but listened to voicemail. It was a dialogue between two women, one acting as caller, referred to the other as the operator. Caller kept repeating my phone #, one digit off, saying, "I don't understand. This is the number I was given". Will definitely block this #.
Thanks for the reviews. Phone was laying on my desk, rang and this number appeared. Googled it and glad to see the responses on this webpage. Long story short, after reading these comments, I did NOT pick up the call..
I did not answer. Left a voicemail. Was a woman speaking in an unknown foreign language for about 30 seconds and then she says in English "okay, is that everything?" and another woman's voice says "yes, thank you." and they hang up.
