I have received several calls from a person who identifies herself as "Heather" and she states that she is calling about my account. I don't recognize the telephone number and a person named Heather. As soon as I hear her identify herself and that she is calling about my account I hang up. I will not transact business over the telephone and I am of the opinion that this is a scam to obtain personal information about me and/or my wife.
Got a call from this number on my cell phone. I did not recognize the number and did not answer. Checked the number on line before calling back and found this site. Glad I did not waste a call.
"Heather from account services" crap, again. On my business line, several times a day, for months. I've selected the "2" option to be taken off their list and also pressed "1' to select an operator and told them to remove me. I've done both several times, because reporting them to the do not call list does nothing. What's the point of any of this? My phone company (ATT) says that they can't block out of area numbers, and I have no way to block it on my end. Each time they call it costs me money (both from my business line and them being out of the area (adding long distance fees)). What's the point of laws when any company can call an harass you multiple times each day and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it? Anyway, I did try and call the number back, and got the "this number has been disconnected" response. Doesn't sound like a normal phone company message to me, so I think it might actually be their number and they just have that automatically say this (maybe to stop reports to get them shut down?). All you can do, is contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) -- the FCC can't and won't do anything -- or you can also report it to your State Attorney General. Other than that, you can't do a damn thing (do not call list has no power, it's just a database, they say they have no power on their site).
The following levels the playing field a bit:As stated earlier, the company behind these calls is IXE Accelerated Financial Services, and they have a toll-free number: 1-888-226-5185.Call this number from a public (i.e., pay) phone booth to voice your concerns multiple times. They have to pay significantly (over $0.50 per call) each they pick up because they have to reimburse the pay phone company on top of their regular phone bills! This gets their attention. Ask them to remove your number. It's gratifying to know that they have to pay more than $0.50 to hear your concerns, and that you can make them pay more if they continue to harass you.
Called 4-7-2008 @ 19:40, left no message. Googled number results in a tortilla distributor in Florida. No connection made with this company...
Just got a call from this number. A recording told me they could lower my credit card rate, just press 1. The man who came on the line asked questions that I would not answer over the phone without information from the caller. When I asked questions...he hung up. Definitely a scam.
second call today from this number, but this time there was a message about lowering mortgage interest rate. I've been on the do not call list since it's inception and these telemarketers don't care if you are on it or not!

This proves that they are getting anxious from the thought that all of you will be calling them. And sombody else posted a great response to the scammers' answer: "when you block one pay phone number, we can always go to another one, then another...".Summarizing: calling the 1-888 number from a pay phone to voice your concern them doesn't cost you a penny, but you make them pay over $0.50 and that gets their attention.
