July 2021 A man called from this number answering an ad for childcare. He said that his name was Chris and his wife's name was Karen. He said that they had a three year old son named Zach and needed full time childcare. He sent two pictures of his family to prove that it was legit and asked for pictures of me and my family. Then he asked if he could call me. We talked on the phone and he said that he needed me to watch his son Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and would pay me $250 per week. He asked several questions about my job, work experience, children, and seemed to be trying to find out if I was married or lived alone. He asked if I was going to have more children and if it was hard to get pregnant. He said that he and his wife were trying for a second child and that their first was a surprise. I think that he figured out that I was getting suspicious so he suddenly asked if I had cats because his son was allergic. I told him that I did and he said that he'd let me know and hung up. It was very strange. After reading other posts, sounds like the same guy and it looks like he has been doing this for years. Hopefully he is just sticking to prank calls and won't end up hurting someone.
Omg! This happened to me just now! For some reason my gut was telling me its was weird!
I had the same thing happen to me with him. I have an ad on Craigslist for child care. Asked me to send pictures of my family. I told him he has a weird number, asked him what part of town is he from. I got no reply.
Same thing. I posted looking for a place to live. He called me, asked some questions told me if I babysat he would reduce rent. Then tried the survey thing and said it was about sex. That's when I said not interested and I hung up. Creep. Blocked his number but I was dumb and told him where I worked, thinking it was legit. Im afraid now that I will get retaliated against.
The same thing happened to me. He texted me first to ask if I babysit. I told him I do child day care. He asked if he could call me. I told him yes. He called and asked if I babysit. Then asked what experience I had. I told him that I had two kids. Then he asked about their ages, if it took long for us to get pregnant or were they a surprise. He told me that his two year old son was a surprise and that him and his wife were trying for their second. Then he asked about what my husband did for work and told me that his wife was a secretary and he did surveys. He mentioned that he would need someone to care for his son Monday through Friday, 8 to 5 and he would pay $200 a week. He asked if that would be ok. I told him yes but asked him if it was in the state I lived in because the phone number that popped up was a VA number. He told me they just moved here. I told him that I like to meet the child and the parents to see if it is a good fit for all of us. He said no problem and said we could meet later in the week. He then said the thing about his wife's job and that he did surveys and ask if I would do the survey. I told him I wasn't sure what he meant and that is when he started rushing to get off the phone. He said he would have his wife call me to set up a time to meet and then said he had to ask about the survey and hurrily said good bye and hung up.
OMG. I got a message last night asking about childcare as well. He called my number but I ignored bc I was already in bed. He asked for just a couple mins of my time bc they were in desperate need of a sitter asap! I got up and called him back. He asked odd question so about my family and gave vague answers to my questions. He did say he did surveys and asked if ID be interested in taking one. I thought it was a joke and laughed and said maybe some other time it was late so he asked if he could call me back today about setting a time to meet for childcare.
I just received a call from a man who called himself Chris. He explained that he has a two year old son who will be needing care Monday-Friday and he abs his wife will pay $200 for the services. He said he just moved into the area and that he worked on computers and did surveys on the side and his wife was a secretary. His whole voice abs the way her breathed on the phone during he called wuss creepy AF! He gave off a vibe that disturbed my soul as soon as I began to speak to him. Please report his guy as much as possible if you ever run into him and his lies! [***] creep!
