Said I had missed an appearance and I needed to contact my attorney. Sounds like another scam considering I do not have any charges against me.

The woman who answered claimed to be from the law firm of Anthony Richardson. When pressed on who Anthony Richardson was, why he wasn't registered with the California Bar, and why there were no court cases with an attorney by that name she switched stories and claimed that he wasn't a lawyer but a "legal administrator". When asked if he worked for a law firm she then mentioned Freeman and Associates and gave an address to a large office building complex in Alverado CA. When asked if any actual lawyers with court cases or registered with the California Bar worked at Freeman and Associates and who they were she got very defensive and claimed she couldn't give out that information on the phone. When asked at the end of the call to identify herself she paused and gave a different name then what she used at the beginning of the call. She would not give a last name. Needless to say I could find no evidence of a Freeman and Associates law firm in Alverado or any court case by such a firm. "Freeman and Associates" is a name mentioned by others as scammers so beware!

did you check the county you live in i found a local case that originated from them but i am in michigan and they had some one here handling it?

Danette, please provide the county in Michigan, the name of the attorney or law firm handling it locally, the case number, the names of the plaintiff and defendant, and how you found this information so it can be verified. Otherwise, we all have to assume you are in on the scam and just trying to scare people. I searched Michigan court cases and could not find any case on which Freeman and Associates or Anthony Richardson was listed as a party, attorney, or law firm.

My sister and my wife recently got nasty messages from an 'Anthony Richardson' on their cell phones. One about 'missing a court appearance' and one saying 'you have 24 hours to return this call or face serious consequences which can never be taken back'. Thats funny considering I havent received any certified legal documents at all,am not in any trouble and have no Idea what they are talking about! 'Anthony Richardson' is a ghost.No address,no business listing.Nothing at all except for this complaint board. I havent gotten any calls to MY number. The excessive drama level of the threats and ominous droning voice of 'Mr.Richardson' is actually pretty hilarious.NOT legal debt collection practices.

I have been scamed. I got the same message. Who ever it is must have tapped into my credit file because they knew where I worked and where I use to live
