Got a call from this number this evening around 6:30. Caller ID shows number registered in TX. The caller said his name is Kevin and that he was calling from NY. He said he called my brokerage and asked for a Vietnamese speaking agent and my info was given to him. Said he is relocating from NY to Davis, CA as he has just accepted a full time teaching position at UC Davis - math department. He said his job would start 1st week of September but that he and his parents would be moving to CA in 3 weeks, and that they would be in temporary housing provided by the university until they can purchase their home. When I asked additional questions to explore their needs and asked about whether he’s been pre-approved and such, he stated that they’re purchasing with cash, up to $1.5M. I asked for his email; he said he’d text it to me after our call, as well as had no issue sending me his bank statement showing proof of funds. Then the conversation got weirder and weirder as he ranted about race, religion, and politics as other people who have reported him mentioned. When I suspected the call was not legitimate, I asked why he had mentioned he had previously lived in Washington and now in NY but the phone number he called from shows TX. He said it “belongs to a lady who used to have this phone, and I’ve told the phone company to remove her name but they never did.” Anyway, I reeled him back to his home search, and politely ended the call and researched the phone number. As a real estate agent, you just never know if a legitimate lead is calling, so you answer your calls. It’s a shame that someone would take the time to waste yours. That’s 50 minutes of my life I’ll never get back, and I was simply trying to do my job! What a creep! Beware and don’t answer calls coming from this number. Wish I had the opportunity to search this number before I took the call.

This guy did the exact same to me! Wasted 2 hours of my life claiming he was from san Jose and now in Houston looking to move to Dallas for a professor job at SMU. Beware! I dont know what his end goal is, but it just does not sit right with me that he is even doing this to begin with.

Same thing here. He texted me late on Friday night asked me to call him. He said he walled Windermere to ask for a Hebrew speaking agent for his wife which is from Israel and he wants her to be comfortable during the purchase process. Said his name is Calvin Kuroda and he currently leaves in Carolina and he is a Mathematics professor. He only spoke briefly about what he is looking for real estate related and then moved to talk about Israel and all the politics around it, which I never get into with no one. He spoke for nearly an hour!! At the end he told me to text him my email address so he can reply with his. Nothing happened and his phone has been off since then.

He called me, a real estate agent in San Antonio, and wanted to buy a house with cash, $500, 000. Well, he called me 2 years ago with the name David Phan and now he is "Thomas". Please hang up and block him asap.

SAME thing happened to me today. He stated his name is Thomas Pham this time. Same story, relocating to Portland due to a new job and wanting to buy a condo. I asked in detail and he knew I suspected him so he hung up abruptly. I called back several times and of course it went straight to voicemail. I reported him to my brokerage and posted on facebook so other agents/realtors can be alert about it.

I am a agent in Seattle and just had the displeasure of dealing with the same man. Went by the name Thomas and was relocating from Texas with his wife. Supposedly working for the UW. He wanted a 3 bed condo in Kirkland. I unfortunately fell for it and just thought he was quite the talker. He goes on and on for over a hour about politics, religion and greed etc. claimed to be a Japanese American. He asked me a couple of times if I was Jewish because my last name is Solomon. He never sent the email so I googled the number and the same story comes up. We as realtors are busy and don’t have time for people that are not credible. Be careful because we don’t know his motives.

I’m a female realtor in Seattle. Same story. I also got a text from him Ryan Pham he goes by. This man is waste peoples time. He normally calls at night. I didn’t return his calls after first conversation. Then he continues to calls. He won’t talk about homes he want but he will talk politics to derail you off the 1.3 million dollar home he wants paying cash. Beware of this caller.

Just received the same call. Jeffrey Kuroda moving to Ontario to work in math department at University of Waterloo. Couldn't get off the phone with him. Told him I was going on a trip to Mexico and he proceeded to tell me half a dozen stories of women traveling and getting murdered and raped. Reporting him asap.
