Called this afternoon 1:15PST. Message started, "Your business has been pre-approved for a small business loan..."
Yeah and stop the service provider from collecting money? The sheeit flows both ways. You pay for service, so does the robocaller. You think the phone co wants to lose the revenue stream?
I agree- who would take an unsolicited loan? I own a business and I would never do that.I think that this is a scam to get personal information, then it gets used against you in a big way.I blocked this number also. We need to enforce the DNC lists in this country. Although some calls even come from other countries and get routed via US numbers. I also had someone tell me once that the were calling from Toronto and the DNC list was not relevant for them.
I'm on the Do Not Call registry. I received an automated message from (724) 307-5567, saying that I am pre-approved for a business loan (I do not have a business, nor have I applied for a loan. I pressed "1" for more information, and was connected to an operator with "Business Promotions". He asked for a number of pieces of information about "my business" I gave false information so that I could better understand the business that was violating the Do Not Call registry. After they took some basic information, I was forwarded to a loan officer at "Next Wave Enterprises" based in Miami Florida. I explained to the loan officer that their call center contractors had violated the Do Not Call registry and that I would report them to the Federal Trade Commission. This seems like a potentially predatory cash loan program with little respect for the law. Don't forget that you can register for the Do Not Call Registry and that if telemarketers call you they are violating the law. You can report these violations to the Federal Trade Commission.
The number is probably one of many hundred trunk numbers used by a telemarketing company as a callerID source depending on who the client is they are working for. Anything you can do about it? Not likely. Just don't patronize, hang up, and continue on with that Netflix watching binge.
