2 calls on my cellphone; no message left; tried calling the number back to see what it was; just got a busy signal

I've gotten calls from this number several times over the past couple of weeks. At first I just hung up. Today I listened to the entire message, pressed 1 to get an salesperson, and in the middle of informing them that I do not now, nor have I ever owned a car or even a driver's license, they hung up. Unfortunately my cell phone is new enough that I haven't registered it on the national do not call list, but even so any sort of automated call for which the receiver has to pay (ie, calls to a cell phone) is illegal. The 800# is spoofed caller ID (168-xxxx is an invalid exchange). After 20 minutes of searching via google I found hundreds if not thousands of complaints about this phone number, but no way to look it up and see what company operates (or spoofs) it and how to contact them.

Keep getting calls from car warranty service.

I pressed "1". A live operator asked for information about my vehicle which I gave. Then she asked for my name. When I said that before I gave that out I wanted to know how the payments would work, she said that she didn't know and needed to connect me to someone else but wouldn't until I told her my name. I said that this was making me uncomcortable. She hung up.

I answered the phne and was warned that this was the last call I would receive regarding my expired warranty on my vehicle. I received this call several times in the last few weeks. Once when I called to tell them they had the wrong number, the operator asked me my name at which point I told her that you called me!! She promptly asked for credit card verification when I told her that I never had a warranty on my car since I bought it from a private owner. She again insisted on me giving her a valid credit card so she could verify my identity. When I challenged her again she hung up. Until they call again.

Here is what I will do. I will send a signature / delivery confirmation and I will have this company cold and I will report them.

I think this was some kind of phone spam? Called about vehicle warranty hung up before anything else was said.

I missed the call today as I was in the Post Office. Out of curiousity, I search the internet for 1-800-168-4861 and found this page. Although, I missed this one, I have received a lot of calls "This is 2nd notice of your expiring vehicle warranty... blah... blah... blah..." I ignored the first one, then the next ones still say "2nd". Quite funny but extremely annoying, since you don't know if the call to the cell phone might be something important or emergency.
