diffently a scam if you get a bill throw it away just another way that there trying to make money

Stephanie from MCI billing is at it again making mo' money. Same story as listed in the below comments and even reports her location as out of Jacksonville, FL. Check with your IT security if an institution or business. Ole Steph will even leave a phone message, which typically means she does this constantly. Don't fall for this scam.

Received a bill for $6.37 for a phone call made from my home phone number to a home phone number in New Jersey.We subscribe to the Comcast phone service.....all outbound calls within the US are free. Pure scam. Please do not pay any attention to any response to this complaint.

I got a call from these folks at 800-226-0014 asking for my address to send a bill for long distance calls, I refused to give them the info.. I explained that we did not have MCI service and was told that my phone company put the calls through to MCI I asked what numbers were called and one was a local number that is not long distance the lady Stephanie agrued with me that it was long distance. I called my phone company and asked about this.. they said there is no way a call from my home phone would be routed through MCI.. I have AT&T with a long distance block on my phone. My phone company called this very rude lady and explained this to her she said she would send it back as a dispute.. THIS COMPANY IS A HOAX... DO NOT PAY THEIR BILLS.

Same thing last month. A friend of mine called collect from a pay phone in Philadelphia.Received a bill fromk MCI/Verizon. My carrier is Comcast. It is a hoax. Do not pay these people.

Got this bill from "MCI" that was charging us $26 for calls made in our general vicinity. We don't have MCI in any shape or form. Called the number and got an answering machine. So I called MCI.MCI told me that the account doesn't exist with them. They searched the calls made from the number on the various dates I gave and the numbers were all private cell phones. They said Verizon occasionally routes long distance through them, as the companies have merged. Told me to call Verizon.I called Verizon. They confirmed that the number is not a Verizon account in any way shape or form. I called back the original number on the invoice, which I'd suspected to be a scam from the start. Got through to a woman who tried to convince me that it was from one of our numbers. Finally she put me on "hold" for about two seconds and then claimed she fixed the "billing error" and that I wouldn't receive such a bill again.This is a HOAX. They imitate other phone companies to trick you into paying. Chances are that this woman and her friends and making bank.DO NOT PAY THEM.

Recd a bill for $16.62. I also use Comcast. I'm glad I checked this out! I'm assuming they would have access to checking or credit card account info. Yikes!

Got a bill for $78.00. Was told these charges were from MCI a Verizon Company. Invoice says to pay upon receipt. Not sure what the calls were from. I think this is a scam. I do not use MCI or Verizon. The invoice has an address from Jacksonville, FL. Very strange.

will add to what everyone else has said here. got a bill in the mail from "MCI" $8.03 for a collect call as well. funny part is the phone number is a number i havent had in years, and they some how sent it to an address 3 moves later... thought it seemed suspect, so i'm glad i checked it out online first.
