Sadly, the flyer we got was just a card and no money involved. I'm feeling so deprived! But we would be rewarded with a free meal and two $50 vouchers if we came to hear how to GET RID of our timeshare. All people named on the timeshare must attend (but only 2 free meals.) Hmmmm... No company listed on the card anywhere. I also looked up the address on the card and it came up as NOT accredited by BBB, even though they had the audacity to put the logo on their mailer. So... yeah, they're trying a different approach to reel people in to buy their vacation packages. Why would I want to do that if I'm attending to dump one??? Duh.
Did not get a mcall but a letter congratulating me for winning an award with the carnival or Norwegian Cruise for eight days and supposedly a final notice check of $1897 with no cash value but must be redeemed for cruise voucherThe only identifying "from" information is this tel number to call. NOW YOU KNOW WHAT THEY ARE CALLING YOU FOR!
Called the 800 645 6180 number. I was informed that this was a travel agency that was looking for new customers. It would involve a 90 minute presentation, after which we would receive our $1897.00 check for booking a cruise. Qualifications were age: 32 to 72. Household income: greater than $60,000/ year. Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) we did not qualify, so we were not able to sign up for the presentation. Be careful, these are usually high pressure presentations. I called because I was curious since they provided no information on the mailer.
I got this mailer too. I called and they want my wife and I to go to a 90 min seminar.. sounds to go to be true. Probably is to good yo be true. But I'm intresed
No call but a flyer offering 2 night stay in local resort hotel where I can be chased by an axe-wielding Jack Nichelson. Absolutely no identifying information on the flyer except for a reference to "Highland Resorts" in the fine-print legalese. I can't decide (and don't care) whether they're pushing vacations or timeshares but I'm certainly not going to call them so they'll have a "prior business relationship" that will let them work around the DNC list.
Got the check referenced above after receiving several calls from that number that went straight to the machine.
I've actually done these a few times. Mostly weekend stays from time shares, but I did receive a 4 night cruise with airfare from a travel agency one time. Just need to keep saying "no" at the end of the presentation.
