This number is legit at Chase fraud dept. They contacted me to report suspicious activity generated from the UK to the US on my card. Had to cancel and order new card - appreciate their consumer protection!
It was a legit call from Chase. I called the number on the back of my card, and they transferred me to the Fraud Protection Services.I made a charge with my card to fly to a city I've never been to, and they had frozen the account. They were able to unfreeze my account once I confirmed the charge was correct.
It is legit...I started to worry also, so I called the number on back of my credit card and it is legit. I talked to a rep and everything was true.
I also just called # on back of debit card to verify message I received on my answering machine and chase customer service verified that it is their fraud division #. Still in process of calling the # back to see what is going on.
My call / VMS came from (224) 222-5000 with instructions to call the 800-654-9214 #.They had my last 4 CC digits.I called the Chase # on my CC. It is LEGITIMATE! (Mine was online activity)
Was not fake for me. I called back to the 800# and I didn't give any info about me or my card. I apologized for perhaps insulting them by being suspicious and he said "no problem, call the # on the back of your credit card and go directly thru Chase and explain the message you received." Did so. Was routed thru a couple of departments and on to the "Security Dept." which gave me info on 2 charges to my account that I did NOT make. Was asked for my various "passwords" etc. I had actually received packages for those 2 charges today! I had not ordered them. Have read how scam artists test your credit card # by having something sent to you ---if it goes thru, they start ordering items to be shipped to themselves using your credit data. They can rack up huge $$$ and then they resell the items via Ebay, Craigs List, pawn shops etc. So, just call the # on the back of your credit card and get to Fraud or Security division ! Just tell them about the message you received. Bypass the automated choices by pressing 0 three times to get to a real person at the bank.
Yes, legit ! But if you are worried call the # on the back of your card. Press 0 three times to bypass all the automated questions and get to a real person. Tell them about the message you received. You will get routed to the Fraud/Security division. There were 2 charges that were NOT mine. Have read how scam artists test a credit card number by sending you something they order. (usually online) If the charge goes thru, they then quickly order gobs of stuff to send to themselves............which they resell via Ebay, Craigs List, on the street etc. So please check any call you get by just calling the bank's number on the back of your credit card and explaining the message you received.
