We got a message to call this morning after our payment for the month was received (on the second). I called this number and was connected to a lady named Barbara. She was very nice and said that she wished that the automatic caller that contacted me would get fixed. I asked if she gets a lot of these calls complaining that the payment was made, we were well within the grace period. She replied that every other call she receives is complaints regarding these messages sent to people. She said that after the first of the month it just drops peoples numbers into there automatic call computer. She appologized and asked that this not reflect poorly on them.

Just got a message on my voice mail with no actual message left. Called the number on my Caller ID. Got the "home retention hotline" which did not identify the company. Wouldn't connect me with a person unless I gave account numbers, ssn, and zipcode of property. Since I didn't know which company it was, I had no way of answering those questions and couldn't get a person. Looked it up here and found out it is Countrywide. I have a 1st mortgage and HELOC with them and they are up to date. I will just ignore them for now but let my broker know so she can not send as much business to them.

Yep. They'll track you even if you just call back. DON'T CALL THIS NUMBER BACK and don't give them any info at all! That's what happened, so I called Countrywide and told them just to take my name off their list because I live in an apartment.

Got the same voicemail from Cuntrywide. I don't have a mortgage or a home. I don't know what they actually can benefit from me in this scam.

Already called three times today. When I finally called back, it asked for account # and they are debt collector, etc. Then I just hung it up.

I hate that they call when it is still within the grace period! They sure waste a lot of time and money bothering people who will pay when it is due!! I don't pay them in advance -- I don't have that luxury -- but I'm not late with my payment!! They used to have people from India calling and some of them were downright rude, but I don't know who is calling now as I didn't answer the phone. I didn't get these harrassing phone calls for a few months -- I thought after they crashed with all their subprime loans, they laid off a lot of people and didn't have time to bother people like me, but I guess they still do. And when you tell them you will pay it by the grace period time, they act like you are lying! Hel-LO -- I've never had to pay a late fee and you always get your payment on time -- look it up on the computer and leave me alone!!

This number calls repeatedly about 6 times in a row, then some time passes, and another 6 times in a row. I have an answering machine. No message is left, but then here is another call. I sleep during the day, so this is a real pain.

Though I didn't pick up, I thought this might be legit since I paid on the last day of my grace period, and upon looking at my account online it seems they haven't bothered to take my payment yet (hm...). After reading these other reports though I'm glad I didn't pick up. I'd also say it's not a good idea to pick up these calls. If you're still curious, call the number on your bill, not the number they leave in the message.

Two days in a row I have received calls from this number on my cell phone. How the heXX they got my cell phone number is beyond me! I have never had any dealings with Country Wide. I am listed on the "do not call" list too.If you try the number you get the same run=a=round and they want your Soc. Sec. number or account number or will not let you access. I intend to file a formal suit if it continues!!

Yep! I got two calls in a row on my cell phone number in two days. I tried calling the 1-800-669-0102 and got the same run=a= round!!I too am listed on the "do not call list".How they got my cell phone is beyond me! I intend to follow up with the proper law suit if necessary to get it stopped. I have never had any dealings with Country Wide!!!
