Block them if you can. As far as I am concerendd, if i am not expecting a call from you, I will not answer it.
They said something about being burglarized so I am assuming it is an alarm company.. but I am on the do not call list so they think I would be interested in using a company that breaks the law to try to get my business... NOPE! Now I wouldn't use them if I needed one. I hung up.. Now I am going to report them..
Thanks Leah! That sounds about right. I appreciate it very much. Have a blessed day & God bless U
Got two calls from this number this AM, did not hear any ring from first one but when I answered second call they hung up immediately. I do not call unknown numbers back, I just "Google" the number and I get lists of complaint sites where you can spend a day reading complaints like the ones hear. I really do not understand why anyone would call back to let "Mr. Unknown" know that he has called an active phone number and not a FAX number.
The easiest thing to do is what I do....If you don't recognize the number, DON'T ANSWER! Problem solved!
This was to my cell phone from a robot, gave me the option to press 2 for a free alarm if they put a sign in my yard. I pressed 2 and a person (Asian, not good English) asked me for my first name and if they could call back. I said yes since this is how I will be able to report them. Next call is from 972-528-0084, haven't answered it yet but I will and post the rest of the information.
The update after the callback...This call was made on behalf of American Home Security. The spiel is they will install a wireless home security system free if I agree to put a sign in the yard. It will be monitored for $39.95 a month and for an additional charge I can link it to my cell phone. This is similar to what ADT and the rest of them do. The 'free' alarm equipment sells for under $200 and a wireless install consists of sticking a few devices to doors and walls. You are paying thousands of dollars in monitoring fees for an entry-level system that may or may not protect your home. They try to upgrade you with bait & switch when on site.My company also installs alarms (which is why I wanted more info) and our monitoring is about $30 to start and nothing is free. My people have been trained, are certified by the state and have many years experience. Our 'basic' system is about $1500 installed. Their installation is the equivalent of having your car worked on by someone who read a book about cars. I would stay away from it.
I just received a call from this number on my cell phone. I called it back from my home phone and got a recording that this number was unallocated.
