It's not a political call. It's a cruise scam. This group is not exempt from the DNC laws... they just ignore it because they know the DNC is a joke and will never do anything to stop them. This "company" and the "credit card interest rate" people are scammers trying to get your credit card or identity information so they can screw you over. Calling back and clicking "1 or 2" to remove your number does nothing but confirm that your number is an active number and they'll sell it off to some other scam group. If I find this group or the fake credit card group I'm going to take vacation and blow up their buildings. I've been getting these calls for over a year now and they will not stop...
Hey!Yea, like everyone else ... so damn sick of these scams from moron's who think changing caller ID is going to fool us into falling for their sick scam! These bozos are but one of several going around too. Tom, of Home Security Group/Protection, Rachel or Mike of Cardholder Services, The Loan Modification scam ("your equity is upside down" or something similar to that bs), and now this scam. All with one thing in common:Trying to rob us blind!!!!Other similarities:• Calling numbers listed on the DNCR list• Rob-calls• Spoofed numbers• Harassing calls that pick up/increase when you tell them to stop or press a "1" or a "9"• Usually at the bottom of all their scams... attempts at stealing personal info (or even worse, your identity)• With this, hidden charges/costs they don't tell you about and other details• In pressing them for who they (really) are and/or telling them to stop calling ... they hang up• Sometimes there seems to be no one on the other end when you answer your phone (I believe that may also be a way for them to find out if they got a live number. Same result, in other words, to pressing a number to speak with a rep or get placed on their (non-existent) 'no call list'• Different area codes from same scumToo bad all our tax dollars wound up getting wasted!!!So, yea. Thanks! We're all sick and tired of this bs!!! Wish those new laws would really have real teeth and we'd get no more of these criminal, harsasing calls! But doubt they'll do anything... probably like all the other laws (robo-dailers illegal, Truth in Caller ID Act, etc.) have! We can only hope though!
i have my phone registered with the Missour no call list, and I have been getting calls from political surveys with pre-recorded messages. How do I stop these calls
Caller ID info: "Out of area"; 1-843-619-7688Answered call, then hung up without saying anything. A FTC customer rep recommended this approach to harassing calls from third party debt collectors looking for someone other than you when the calls continue after you've told the collector you're not the party they're attempting to contact. Will have to wait and see if this approach works on this type of call.FYI: Survey calls offering a free cruise after completing the survey are probably scams. If the caller tells you they need a credit card number to charge the fees associated with the free cruise on, there is a 75% or higher chance that the call is a scam. Also, according to the registry website, after registering your number with the National Do Not Call Registry, it takes 30 days for the registration to take effect.
