Got a letter (regular mail) from "Microsoft" claiming that my husband had been awarded a New EPad or new Laptop/Notebook. To claim offer dial this number 855-463-4973. etc. It is a scam. Microsoft does not do this kind of promotions.

Just received the same letter as of November 08, 2011.I called Microsoft and they said it's most likely fraud and not to reply to it.

Received letter from Microsoft stating that there promotional department shows that I had been Awarded a new E-Pad.Enclosed slip said it was sponsored by DirectBuy of Central Texas. Can not find any such business in Texas.

Got the same letter 11/21/2011. Thanks for all the info. I new when I opened it. If it sounds to good to be true it always is a scam.

I received a letter as well and while I'm sure it's a scam, you obviously didn't read the letter. The E-Pad has the "new Android" software, or you get a new Laptop/Netbook with "new Microsoft" software. So there's nothing about Microsoft offering an Android powered device.The letter also says that if you call within 72 hours they will throw in $100 Restaurant dining card.

Do you even realize what MLM is? I'm not endorsing or opposing Direct Buy, but they are definitely NOT an example of multi-level marketing.....

Received a "Final Notice" w/ no return address. Inside it said Congratulations Our Promotional department shows that you have been awarded a New 7" Tablet complete with Android O/S, Camera and Wifi. All I had to do is call the 855-463-4973.. The above responses were very helpful and fit what I assumed this was.

This is not a scam. It is very real. Here's the catch; this is a promotion from Direct Buy. They are a home improvement supply company and they want you to sit in a 1.5 hr presentation on home building and maintenance. if you do this, you will get the EPad. This has nothing to do with Microsoft whatsoever. They are only trying to get you to buy membership into their wholesale club.
