i got a check that has this number for 2400 what do i do

I received a check for $250. When I called the phone number on the check I received the customer service dept for merchant services. They told me it was for an automatic payment I set up on my Bank of America account.It took me a few minutes, then I remembered that I had set up an automatic payment (check) to be sent to me from my small business account so I would avoid paying a monthly service charge on the account.Glad I didn't shred the check.

Didn't get a call, but received a basically unmarked envelope that says Payment Enclosed. Opened it and it's what I thought to be a check from Sprint. Weird thing is that the pay to the order of name says Sprint, but with my address. And it has Bank of America printed on the check as well as my Sprint account number and my bank info numbers printed on the bottom. This is quite fishy...

I call them and they sound bogus. I gave them no info.Next, I called the actual Bank of America. They got the info and are forwarding it to their fraud/abuse department for investigation. While talking with BoA they checked my bill pay for a transaction of the amount and date this 855-739-0856 number indicated and there is nothing like that in my account.Hmmm...seems like SCAM.

We live in Texas and received a refund payment from here after cancelling our daughters dance class. In our case, the payment came from the dance instructors bank and was legit.

They are scammers, plain and simple. Don't even tell me you are on their side. That would kill me. Please. People have to learn what to watch out for. Especially after the Equifax thing. I am constantly getting emails, phone calls, and now THIS from scammers. Geez! Let America know what is going on -- it's your duty...RISE UP!!

I figured mine out. A friend owed me some money and paid me through Bank of America Bill Pay. I received the check through Northern Trust. I noticed his name was address was in the upper left corner. Not a fraud.

I got a check for over $1400 from them. I called the number on the check and she said she was from Bank of America Online Bill Payment and the check was real but I was still skeptical because it didn't have a watermark on the back or BOA's logo so I called BOA. I had a tough time getting past the automated system because the account number printed on the check didn't come up in the system. When I was finally able to talk to someone I gave them all the numbers on the check and the name and address of the person who sent it to me. After running the numbers they told me it was fake and to shred it and if I had tried to cash I would have been arrested. The people at (855)739-0856 run a scam business they are not apart of Bank of America they have been trying to reach the source of this scam for years now. Please don't fall for it like I almost did.

I received something very similar to yours and I am very suspicious if it is legit or not as all legitimate payment always go with an explanation letter. Not in my case. What's about you all?
