Its a scam i got one for 1400 so i called boa to verify the check after running the account number they told me to shred it and was happy i called first because i would have been arrested if i tried to cash it boa has been trying to locate the source of this scam for years

Update 4.23.18This is a scam. Why is every "check" paid to the order of "Chase Cardmember Services" & in the amount of $250.00? I called Chase & confirmed this is fraud, a phishing scam. I don't even write checks for bills so how could the account # on my check not be valid?

Got Check from Northern Trust of ( Payment Processing Center in Illinois) for $500, deposited and no problems. That was 2 weeks ago , now another check for 3,750. These amounts are same as my last 2 credit card payments to BofA. I don't know why they are coming. Also my credit card number is printed on Check, where did they get that? BofA hasn't bounced the check yet. Check says 30 day to cash. No call yet, but highly suspicious. Have not spent the $500 yet and wont cash new check till I get resolution of the problem. Any Ideas?

I called the number in Hickory NC thats on Northern Trust CheckRead the previous messages. Here's my version. Payed Credit Card (Visa) through Bank of America online Bill Pay just like I've done for 10 years. Check has my name as sender and receiver. WHY??? Check has my Credit Card number on it. Northern Trust said they are processor only. Bank of America customer service see's nothing wrong with my account , no unusual activity, all dollars are correct and did not send money back to me. I am mixed up and don't know what to do. Replies are confusing 50/50 for scam and legit. The dollar value is too big to ignore, its EXACTLY amount of my credit card payment through Bill Pay and dated on same day of payment. I'll go to local Bank of America branch and get their version. If its legit, why would Bank make me a gift of the last payment, they've never done this before.

I received a bad check from online banking bill pay and I called the phone number on the check ....they stated everything was fine but when I deposited the check it was not valid

This is Bank of America bill pay service. They issued a check to me for a mutual customer, we never received the check. They were calling to say that they were reissuing the check and destroy the original if it ever appears. They also asked if there were late fees associated with this missing payment.

I receive child support via this service and it works fine each and every month for over three years. Assume that it is through BOA, as dad is out of the country living the high life cheaply as an ex pat, while the rest of us slave away living legit lives not sucking off government funds.

This is a scam, nobody gives you nothing free

This is a complete scam. It looks like a check but when you try to deposit it, it processes as if it was a check you had written and, instead of getting the amount credited back to your account, it's deducted instead. DO NOT DEPOSIT THESE CHECKS.

Any check this number is associated with is likely a scam. Never wire money to anyone you don't know. Never deposit a check and then send money back. If someone sends you a check and asks for money back, they are trying to scam you. Anyone can print a check that looks real (ie: it "scans" through a check scanner) while in their living room with blank check stock, (purchased at any office supply store), a magnetic ink cartridge and a real (read - stolen) checking account/routing number. If it sounds too good to be true, it is!!
