A female automated voice left a message on our answering machine yesterday, December 08 2022, claiming to be with WellCare (our Medicare prescription drug insurance) and needing to receive important information from me. Always in the past, I've Googled unknown phone #s before calling them back and I wish I had this time as well, then I wouldn't have returned the call this morning --- or ever. The phone# I called is 1-855-958-9866 but when I used star 69 (after returning the call), the phone# is 667-279-0362 (Baltimore). The first question the female automated voice asked me was to confirm my name is such-and-such, to which I answered yes. I'm kicking myself now and wishing I hadn't returned the call. I hope my yes answer won't have any negative consequences to me. The second question was do I wish to continue, to which I answered no. Then the automated voice said they'd call back, at which point I hung up.

I "missed" a call from this number on 12/8/21. Message left said to call this number back as "they" needed more info on my xxxxxxxx prescription drug plan. I did not recognize the number as a customer service # to the P/D/Plan company I am a member of. I did not call back. I think it's a SCAM call. Beware !

I also received a call from this number saying they were Wellcare and that I should call them because they had to gather some information. I had the same experience as Elliot and Dennis and found the number they gave for me to call is not the customer service number of Wellcare. Obviously, I didn't and won't return there call. SCAM!!

I also got a call saying it was from wellcare but not even close to the number on wellcare's website. I agree if they want info they would contact me thru their website or email

I just put this number into a search engine (DuckDuckGo) and see among all the results, I see only one claim that it’s legitimate, and that probably came from the scammers themselves. I’m not calling back. If WellCare needs to talk to me they can send a letter; if you’re a customer they have your address.

They've started this scam again. I got called about a year ago also, so when they said Wellcare, I looked up their #. This is not their regular customer service # so I did not return their call!

Left voice message. Said WellCare. (It's a Medicare part D prescription plan). A plan I have, by the way. The automated voice system said they needed to get updated important info from me. (Flag)? This number is different from wellcare main customer service number, which is 888-550-5252. I did not call back. Quite frankly, with all the criminal elements working overtime and having advanced technology to spoof numbers and work every angle, it's probably best not to divulge any personal info over phone . They can do the mail route if it's legit. There is absolutely no oversite on this problem. Was this a legitimate call. Hard to say. If they need to reach me there is always the mail . I have been bombarded with phone calls from scammers, salespeople and every charity you could imagine. Some days I just unplug the landline.

Caller left voice message, said he was from WellCare. Wanted new info. I did not return call because number does not match WellCare numbers. Probably a phishing attempt.

As others said, identified as WellCare, left voice message requesting I call because they need important info on me. I don’t think it’s legit and didn’t return call.
