Ok. this's very disturbing. here's the thing. At one point, I actually had an account with capital one and i did run up a debt with them. But this was over ten years ago. well, two months ago I received a courtesy phone call from an unknown number and the caller said that a breach of contract complaint had been filed against me thirty days earlier and the person asked me if I was aware of it, and i said that I wasn't. The person gave me a case number and a phone number to call so I could find out what was going on, and she said she would hold on to the file. So I called the number and I had told the person on the other end who i was and the case number i was given, and she brought up the old capitol one debt. She said that they were going to sue me in court for over thirty-thousand dollars. She said that I had a couple of payment plan options but she said that it had to be with my debit card and the payments would be taken automatically. Well I set up the payment plan of 110.00 down payment and 82.00 a month every month until the settlement offer was taken care of. well tonight I looked up the phone number I've been using to correspond with this supposed company on google and now I find out that it's a scam number. Now i don't know what to believe.

SCAM DO NOT PAY THEM ANYTHIING

Said to expect paperwork delivering to me for a court date on some credit card I dont or ever had .

These people had my elderly friend so confused that he owed money. Somehow, they got my info that I was a friend of his and tried to get me to convinced him that he owed them money. This is horrible as many seniors do not understand and will give up money to the wrong people. This pisses me off.

Scam I believe...

They tried to tell me I haven't paid a credit card I took out in 2005... I was in middle school... yeah right. Scary they had my ssn and new address though

Claims to be collecting a credit card balance that is 12 years past due from my senior citizen father. Asked for and almost got payment over the phone. Incredibly rude individual and extremely difficult to speak with.
