Also note that if it were legitimate that there was a problem with your Social Security, they would not be using a prerecorded message - an actual human would call. More telling in my case, they called my cell phone -- very few people have the number - so it would be impossible for social security to have the number! You need to use common sense - If you truly believe that such a call might be legit, look up the actual phone number for Social Security and call them directly. Never use a call back feature or the number showing on caller ID
Said was Social Sec. Admin. calling about Federal crime & I needed to call back. Don't think they would just leave a prerecorded msg. about that!
I just received a call from this number saying they needed to speak to me immediately.

I called Citibank's other number and confirmed this was their Consumer Support number. It is legitimate. Processed the information they needed to verify my account. I originally thought it was fraud but it is real.

We receive calls at our place of business from these people every day and they claim to be with Spectrum. It sounds like a call center in India; noisy background noise and each person who calls has a strong accent.
