But it is them.But I still give them a hard time when they call.Like I only give them the last 4 of my social security.Never give out your full social EVER. To anyone. Even citibank employees.They always insist on full social and I always tell them they only get the last 4.

I just had to deal with this. it is citibank. I think it also is BS. NO WAY my card number was stolen. NOT POSSIBLE. I think they were hacked and are lying to me. I don't trust them,

I got this call too. I thought it was shady, so I called the number on the back of my card and they transferred me to the fraud department. It was a legit call. I tried using my debit card at the same location 2 times in a row and I guess with the holiday season, that put a red flag. My 2nd transaction was denied...how annoying...but at the same time I'm glad they are being cautious. I've had credit and debit card numbers stolen before...what a pain! I wish the people who put all that effort into scamming/stealing would put it into something legitimate.

It's legit. I was actually robbed ($5 only) but I believe that'w just the start to check if my account is valid, and then they pocket my whole account. I called the number and they helped me a lot.

We recently had about $700 of fraudulent charges on our Citibank debit card. We got a text/email from Citi informing us which they've done in the past. They are in the process of reimbursing us of the charges and have issued new debit cards.HOWEVER...I got a call today on my cell phone from a phone number in Tennessee in the 423 area code. I let it go to voice mail and there was a message from a woman with an Indian accent asking me to call Citibank at the 866-299-2421 number we are discussing here. Seems like a phishing scam big time to me.

I received call from this number over the weekend at my work number. Called number on back of card and was given a separate number for the Fraud Alert. They verified that they had called and wanted to confirm purchases made with the card. After confirmation they lifted restrictions that had been placed on the card.It was a legitimate call

Scam as I don't even have a Citibank card. I could barely understand the voicemail.

Got a text from this number regarding my debit card so I called it back and it is legitimately from Citibank fraud alert.

i got a call from this number and they asked me for acct info - I told them I didn't know if this was Citibank and the rep told me she understood my concern and that I should just call the number on the back of my card. Then I logged into my citibank account and saw some transaction I didn't recognize, called Citi number from my card, and they addressed the issue SO while number is legit, i would always call number from your card or their website.

Got a text from 95686 regarding a transaction that i did not make asking if it could be fraud- then told me to call this number. I called the number and the rep immediately asked for my CC info, so i went through the fraud dept number on the citibank website instead. It was legit. Had to cancel my card
