Said they were Ms. Hudson with Social Security Office calling about myclaim from the web. Instructed me to call back at 866-431-3875.I called the number and got a recording saying they were the SS officein PHiladephia. I should leave my name, phone number and SSN and they would call me back. I did not leave my SSN!
We received the same type of call from a Ms Emily regarding my wife's application. I too called and have not received a return as of yet. I was wondering if you had.
866-431-3875 is a legitimate phone number for the "Immediate Claims Taking Unit" for Social Security Administration and is located in Philadelphia. Apparently several claims authorizers share this number, each with their own extension. Its legitimacy can be verified by calling the automated number given at www.ssa.gov. (Call 1-800-772-1213, and say "verify" to get to a real person)
Received a call from 855-257-0343 about my wifes ssa application. Callers name was Serena. I did not share information, did any one get this type of call
It's real! It is Social Security.
Received a call from 215-597-5657 last Saturday afternoon. Caller ID showed: GENERAL SERVICE. I was skeptical, so I let it go to voice mail. Caller identified herself as Marisha with the Social Security Administration and instructed me to return her call as soon as possible at 866-431-3875 ext. 32172. I assumed this was in response to my on-line filing application for Medicare. I tried calling her back, but it just rang and rang. I tried the 866-431-3875 number (without the extension) and was greeted with a message that I had reached the "Philadelphia Immediate Claims Taking Unit" and their business hours are 6AM - 6PM M-F. (It's a bit curious that Marisha was working on a Saturday). I've been trying that number at least eight times a day for the past week! No one ever answers and there is no ability to leave a message. Monday I called the 866-431-3875 number and pressed 0 "to speak with the next available agent". I was informed "...all available agents are busy and to leave my name, phone number, and my SSN and someone would return my call." I left my contact info (but NOT my SSN) and mentioned I was returning Marisha's call. That was five days ago and no one has returned my call. Perhaps this is a legit number for SSA and this is the level of service I should expect from them.
i received a email from Deborah Renzulli . claims authorizer social security administration WSU, C12. the phone number is 866-431--3875. ext 30819. the email said " I have a question before I can process it to completion." about my application.
Left the msg as ask by the caller to leave name and ss.no and left the message with my name and SS.No.
I verified this number with Social Security and it's a good valid number for recently filed claims for SS benefits.
My wife received an email stating to call 866-431-3875 about her Social Security Claim and ask for Jeremiah Williams at ext.31336.We contacted the Social Security Office's 800-772-1213 number and they confirmed that this was a toll free number for their Phila., PA office and that Mr. Williams did work for them. This is a GOOD NUMBER... NOT A SCAM...
