The members of this gang have upped their game. They sent me a very official-looking letter by mail that instructed me to call about my new telephone lines. Were I not as suspicious as I am, I might have called the number in the letter, rather than looking up Verizon's phone number on its website.

This phone number belongs to North East Retention... a subsidiary of Verizons, or someone who is employed by Verizon's in OhioAlthough, I used *65 to pay my bill. The payment was not forwarded to Verizon's so Anthony from Ohio believes I should pay my bill by cash.The Florida number where the *67 was located, did not forward the payment. I will file a complaint with Verizon's tomorrow. Verizon's debt collectors need to cease and desist or disclose their full names social security numbers and department of Justice I.D's and bonding I.D.'s to forward the payments or else.... Look for JUSTICE!

The relationship is unclear - it may be a group of thugs that verbally beat you down;demand what you "have to pay" with no access to or knowledge of Verizon's policies or directives issued by to appropriate department. Verizon or the carrier assigned to return a non-working phone (I had to return the original & 3 replacements before getting one that worked) - either lost; logged the receipt incorrectly or someone stole it BUT are forcing me to pay despite pages of documentation & via USPS on-line tracking the phone was delivered to & received the phone in the Texas warehouse. Returned everything I got w/ paperwork. Won't hold it as an item (this has been since mid-April 2012) - 7 people confirmed everything received back. Verizon turned it over to these thugs & the bottom line "look lady, I don't know or care who said what; I don't have any answers for you now pay or get off me phone." They've not heard the last of me nor will I pay for a phone I don't have; never got or got & returned. Caller type: thugs

I keep getting calls from this number on my home phone and I don't even use Verizon. No messages left in voicemail either.

i received calls everyday from this number but when i tried to answer, it was either silent or put you on hold. Just found out it could be from Verizon. I do not have any phone service (land or cell or TV ) from Verizon ever. Why did they call me?

Received a call from this number twice in 5 minutes - just bought my phones a week ago and paid cash. Verizon shows no money due, so I can only assume this is a phishing scam that needs to be reported to my local police department for an investigation. This is called illegal debt practices and they can and should be sued in civil court and reported to the consumer protection bureau. DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE MONEY!!!

I have received a call from this number 866-451-1237 for the last two days. I looked it up and read all your comments. So I called Verizon directly and they had me call 888-483-7200 and when Verizon looked up the number it is their retention department. The lady on the phone said I should not be getting those calls since my bill is not past due. She put a note on my account and said it should stop the calls. Meanwhile I added the number to my reject list so I stop being annoyed during work hours with this call.

I received my Verizon cell phones on 06/18/2014. On 08/28/2014 I get a call from 866-451-1237 Verizon Financial. I get a representative on the telephone and I bluntly as him, why in the [***] am I getting calls from Verizon Financial in June when my first payment isn't due until July 15th 2014. He advised that the Welcome Center and Verizon Financial share the same telephone number. I tore his [***] a new one.

Received a letter in the mail explaining that I recently opened a line and that I had not yet activated the line. I have never opened a line with Verizon. This number was listed as a means of contact. I intend to investigate this further.

I keep receiving calls from 866-451-1237.This needs to stop.Thank-you
