Called about verification on debit card but not sure if it was a scam.

Call received on my cell phone. Did not answer because of out my area code number and strange number. Caller left voice message claiming to be from First Hawaiian Bank and about my credit card. I won't call back because message appears to be a scan.

call received at work number. Did not call back because of out of area code and strange number. My co-worker says her name was Markita and her phone # 1-866-686-4228. Wanting to verify charges. Not sure if legitimate or not...

1-866-686-4228 within Hawaii was not recognized but claimed to be First Hawaiian, and wanted to inquire about suspicious credit activity. Called First Hawaiian Bank directly through their normal number (808) 844-4444 and verified the number: the person at 844-4444 verified that 686-4228 is a legitimate number, and is their fraud department.

as did "no problem", i called the bank and they verified the number is for their fraud dept. Recommended returning the call otherwise a freeze might be put on the account in case card was stolen

I too got a call from this number claiming to be fraud/security department of First Hawaiian Bank. She did not ask for any personal information (SSN or DOB) but just wanting to verify charges on my card. After my conversation with her, I called the bank and verified that it is really their fraud/security department. I'd say this is an accurate number and not just a scam.

called my # at work asking for Andy or Ruth Villanova. weird. I said "sorry, wrong number," and they apologized and that was the end of it. my work # is a direct line and is not published anywhere. very strange.
