I got a call from this number, didn't answer and let it go to voicemail while i searched the number. They called again and the name given was Jamie, a man, and said it was from a Hennepin County correctional facility. I can't think of anyone who would call me. The caller hung up right after it was announced. I called the number back and got a recording to call another number for more information. I listened to the prompts and eventually you can hit 3 to have your number blocked from being called. Just call 1-800-844-6591. You'll have to listen to some crap for a while, but eventually you will be given the option to stop receiving calls from the 866 number.
Believe it or not, not everyone that is arrested and put in jail has committed a crime! All you have to be is in the wrong place and the wrong time and not wealthy enough to afford your bail or a lawyer. Then you sit there until your trial date which usually ranges from 9 months to a year...and the DA can do it without any proof. That is our American Justice System. So next time, use your brain, unless your sitting on it, before you make any more asinine statements and hope this never happens to you or someone you love.
