Caller says they are from GE Money and want your checking account number, because you are late on your payment with Amazon. They have home address and birthdate already, so there is a probability they really are collecting for the Amazon card, but it is the commonly reported situation: they claim to have sent a bill you didn't pay, and you have a late charge. I opened the account 4 weeks ago and have not received any bill.
It is GE Money. I signed up for the Amazon Store Card. Never received a paper bill, can't access my account on their website. Robo caller doesn't identify in any way, but it's a global call center. Phone tree to call back is 8666348379 but doesn't lead to a human. Will let you pay $15 plus $20 late fee plus account balance to end the harassment.
I believe it to be an identity theft scam. I, too, was getting calls from 866-771-1104 day and night. I finally used *69. An automated voice asked for the credit number associated with Amazon.com. I put in a fictitious number and a real person picked up and asked for my social security number. I say no. Then they asked if I owed any money with Amazon.com. I said no again. The person then said that he would remove my number from the system and I would not be receiving any more calls. We'll see....
