This number calls and I get a half an automated message. It cuts off the phone number and quotes some reference number, I called them back and blocked my number. The woman who answered said it is an "acquisition firm" I'll assume that means collection agency.

The call received from this number is a "robocall". They left a message on the answering machine. I assume it is from a collection agency. The message leaves a number and a "reference" number to quote when calling back. Other than that, they don't leave much information.

The company calling is Activ Capital — a collection agency

This number has been phoning me non stop asking for me to send money through the net. They won't bug off. Is this some kind of scam and how do I get them to loose my number!

Aktiv Capital : debt collections - A friend of mine worked for them for a " short " period . Said she couldn't handle it cus the last couple years GOOD HONEST people have just fell on hard times and lost everything - have nothing - no jobs & expected to somehow borrow money to pay there debt's back again . . " with no job ". Yes , there is a percentage ( maybe half ) that have done it to themselves .

How do these guys get ahold of Cellular numbers?

I am not sure but my cell is under a different name even.

This number is from Aktiv Kapital, they are a collections agency and they will not take a hint to go away! i don't answer that # because the phone i use is not even in my name and some how they have managed to ask for me in that # and have a reference #, not sure why and where the hell they got my # from but they call 1-4 times a day and within the last 2 weeks it's been clock work every flipping day. how do i get them to stop calling me on a # that is not even in my name??Aktiv Kapital.......yeah there active alright! actively annoying!

They are annoying. Get a program like "Buzzoff" for your Blackberry, which is about $3.00 to download and then manage all of your calls. For iphone et al there must be other apps to do this.
