This was a slightly different tactic. They allowed the phone to ring only twice tonight, enough for Caller ID to register the call, but not enough for the answer machine to pick up.Surely somebody who reads these posts must have a contact with Direct TV..... the people in their executive suite need to know how badly these calls irritate their customers. Customers who sign up for Direct TV and any other type of service have to sign a contract. A contract is a two-way agreement between both parties. I'm thinking of having some self-adhesive labels printed that state "The following clause is an addendum to the contract upon which it is placed: This contract becomes null and void if the supplier of these services places the user of these services on a telemarketing list."
I do not want marketing messages from Direct TV. I particularly don't want recorded messages telling me to tune in to this show or that show. I am currently getting a call from them every day around 1:00 pm Pacific Time.
Carol;I've learned something from all of the telemarketers, that will save you a lot of time. If you have an answering machine, let the call go to it. If they don't leave a message, it's a telemarketer. I've never found an exception to that method.
these people call often -- my caller ID screen says "Security HM WCA" -- I don't pick up on numbers I don't recognize but frequent unwanted calls are very irksome.
sorry about my last post wherein I reported this nbr as Security HM WCA - I am reporting 4 pesky calls on my list and wrote in the comment from another number -- Actually 877-410-4634 calls a LOT -- no msg, no caller I.D -- I notice all the previous posts say its from Direct-TV -- so that's probably the case here
877-410-4634 is Direct TV. When you call that number you are told that all Direct TV representatives are busy. I have been receiving 2-3 calls every day of every week for over 6 months. No one is there if you do pick up and if you ignore the calls they just keep coming. I called Direct TV (I am now one of their unhappy customers) and demanded that the calls stop. When I asked the rep how confident she was that the calls would stop, she said 100%. I then asked her for her home phone number in case they did not stop I could start calling her at home. She, of course, refused. The number to call is 1-800-370-3587.
