I have received calls from this number repeatedly the last week. When calling back I receive a message stating that all Directv representatives are busy. I phoned Directv and their 800# and spoke to a nice representative who reviewed the company phone numbers and stated that the # was not in their records. I am more than likely to think that this phone number is a scam #. Directv has no reason to call me as my bills have been paid and I am a new customer with no upgrades needed at this time since I have every known channel due to the trial periods in my contract.
I keep getting calls from this number, no one answers when I pickup, maybe time to cancel direct tv.
Haven't received a phone call in a couple of months, but today it started again. Thanks to commenter from Nov. 3rd, I called the 800-370-3587 and asked that I be removed from the marketing calls. The rep was pleasant enough, said she could help with that, but put me on hold twice for unacceptably long periods (maybe as "payback"? ha). It remains to be seen if the calls stop.
It's Directv. I have it so I answered after reading here that it was them. They're "giving" subscribers 3 free months of HD programming on new channels in the 500 group like Hallmark movies, etc. After the 3 month free period, the service automatically transfers to a $4.99/mo service unless you call them to cancel during the free subscription period. I would forget to opt out during the three free months, plus I'm not sure I'd watch many of the channels, so I said no. They did verify my name twice, and my service address, but since I'm a subscriber, they should know that. The salesman's name was Justin something, and he was very pleasant. They were not pushy, so it wasn't a big deal when I said, "No, thank you."
When I answered, auto disconnect. Called back and It is DirectTV recording states "All respresentatives are busy, please leave your name, phone # and best time to return your call"...so I left the info and told them to don't call me..called 8/3 @ 1008am and 8/9 @1037am
