I received a call from this number tonight. I did not answer and a message was left stating: "This is a courtesy call from BB&T with an important message about your account." I do have accounts with BB&T but there are no problems with any of them. I plan on calling my BB&T branch first thing tomorrow and reporting this to them.

I received a call from this number. The caller was female, saying,"This is a courtesy call from BB&T with important information about my account.After listening carefully to the answering machine several times, I determined the caller did not identify herself, the "office hours" seemed to be strange for an international banking operation, neither was the location of the home office given. I believe if BB&T had a problem with my account, an officer from my local bank will contact me. Until then, I am giving no information about my account to a stranger over the phone! "Go Thou and do likewise".

I repeatedly get calls on my cell from this number. There is NO WAY they can be legitimate. All of 5 people have my cell number and certainly NO bank does (nor do I have an account with BB&T. My number is kept private and ther is NO way to trace my identity so it cant be anyone actually calling for ME. A couple possibilities come to mind. Someone 3 years ago had my cell number and owes them $. This happened once with my home phone and the collections people wouldnt believe I wasnt the guy they were looking for. I had to get a supervisor who then cross referenced my listed home phone number under my name to prove I wasnt guy they were looking for. ANNOYING! Another possibility is its an sales pitch to get around the "do not call list".Of course, it could also be a scam with them pretending to be the real bank to get your personal info! Thats why its hard to make out exactly WHAT letters the recording says!

This is infact BB and T bank my account was overdrawn and now i owe them $366 for $20 worth of overages, like 7 items for less than 2 bucks was overdrawn and now they want $35 fee for each 2 dollar item, i dont think so I am not paying $37 times 7 for 7 Double cheeseburgers from Mcdonalds. BBT can kiss my [***] and sell my account to a collection agency. I keep trying to work with them but they keep demanding the full $366.

I continue to receive calls from 1-888-259-8462. They say they are BBNT and that this is a courtesy call. I do have accounts with BB&T bank; however, I have called them and they do say they are not calling. They stated that they do not make courtesy calls.

I just got off the phone with the REAL BB&T has no record of this number. I called my bank directly instead of calling this 888 number....this one IS A SCAM. The BB&T bank has a record of it now and is also reporting it and told me to call the police and report it to them because they now have a 'phishing scam' department in most states.SOME OF THE ABOVE comments seem to be placed by the scammer's. NEVER CALL THESE NUMBERS BACK 1st. Call your bank directly.

they keep calling me multiple times a day and i am tired of it PLEASE STOP!

I just received a call from this number today, 9/2 at 1:18pm. They left a robot call message on the answering machine claiming to be BB&T, and they had an important message regarding your account. Nobody in my house uses BB&T.
