Received a call from this number 8/232011 12:30 EDT.. called themselves us pharmacy.. indian accent. I am on the no ca/ll list and I still get calls (have received calls from this group in the past). Can anyone stop them?

I figured out how to remove your number from this calling list! Answer the phone and speak in gibberish! I just make stuff up. But you have to sound convincing as if you are really speaking a bizarre foreign language. Trust me, they don't call back!

this number keeps calling me every day and they harrass me about medication and have been screaming at me on the phone

How many complaints does our stupid Government need to shut down an illegal phone number from a criminal overseas con-artist???????

Here's an idea that may stop those telemarketers who keep calling and calling: get yourself a whistle - the same kind referees use. Keep it by the phone. When Mr or Ms Persistent Telemarketer calls again, pick up the phone, but instead of saying anything, stick the whistle right next to the mouthpiece and blow as hard as possible. Maybe keep some headphones or earplugs handy so you don't hurt your own eardrums. Sudden, sharp, piercing pain may be the only thing that stops the calls.

This particular number for some reason will not or does not get blocked. I've blocked it from my U-Verse Voice settings, but it still came thru. I then blocked it from my caller ID settings on the phone itself, but that also didn't work. So somehow they figured out how to get thru all the blocking mechanisms we have at our disposal. So I decided to mess with them and order a crap load of stuff. Then I make up a name and address, since they have no idea who they are calling because a computer calls the numbers for them, and before I give them my CC number, I start asking stupid questions. One was for Viagra, and I asked the guy which end I insert the pill in. And if it hurts when it's inserted in a certain males private parts, lol. (I said the part) He was speechless and started rambling about how to take it, but I was insistent on asking more stupid questions. He finally hung up, but not after I wasted a good 10 minutes or more of his time. And I bet he got his butt reamed from his supervisor too, lol. It's been at least 3 weeks since I've received a call from them.......The longer you tie them up, the less people they can call. And your particular number just might fall off their list. But that's just one of them, there's thousands of more, and good thing most of us are on the DNC list, otherwise, just think of all the calls we would be getting?!?!?!?!?!?!

I've been getting the pharmacy calls almost daily for months for someone named "Kimberly". I tried the DNC list, I tried not answering. Today I answered and just lost it -- basically screamed obscenities at the guy for several minutes until I hung up. He called back a minute later, and I did the same thing. He called a third time -- more obscenities -- and then said he will add me to their DNC list. I don't know if it will work, but it was actually really pretty cathartic!

For those who do not know, calls from this and many other phone numbers come from foreign call centers. Many are trying to sell pharmacy drugs or other products. These centers do not care about US laws or Do Not Call lists - because they operate outside of US jurisdiction, they can operate with impunity. I have read the low-wage stooges working at these call centers are pressured to get a certain number of calls answered per shift, so any requests to get them to discontinue, whether made nicely or sternly, will do you no good. Their job is simply to get you to pick up the phone since that registers as a 'made call' for their quota. They want to make the sale, but it isn't necessary, so they will never stop calling even if you tell them it's a wrong number or assure them that you will never order a product from them.Even worse, blocking their phone numbers won't do much good. As a call center, they have a virtually unlimited number of phone numbers they can call you from, and they will never stop calling your phone number once it is in their database. I have contacted my phone company (Verizon) and my senators about this. Others should do the same - the technology exists for companies like Verizon and AT&T to provide simple call-blocking, but the service providers prefer you use your cell phone more or buy their expensive smart phones, so they are not motivated to help consumers with this problem. If you call your senator/congressperson, ask them to find ways to stop the harassment of US citizens by foreign call centers that do not abide by US laws and DNC regulations. Also, there should be a law that lets consumers opt out of 2-year phone plans if their service providers do not act to protect customers from being harassed like this. The best answer is to use a smart phone with blocking features, but of course, that costs more than a typical cell phone. Another solution is to sign up with Google Voice - you can now transfer your existing phone number, and the service gives you complete control of which incoming calls to allow. It may even be a cost savings, depending on your plan. If enough people [***] to the politicians and phone service providers, things may change.
