Fraud- Scam on WhatsApp

I am in Australia an get phone calls at five in morning From 1 ( 972-975-9576) someone in TX USA who is this and why when I answer They are just repeating numbers

I recieved a call from (972) 975-9576 give me a code. I then recieved a text from the same number asking for the code. Seems like a scam.

This number is used to verify WHATSAPP installation. WHATSAPP is an instant messenger. After installation, it sends a code via text messaging. If fail, the WA calls you.

My mistake..The SMS with code came from 4158154224 in San Francisco. The call from TX.

Got a phone call from 1 ( 972-975-9576) from TX, USA at 20:19. I stay in South Africa, the female voice just repeated a code. But earlier the day I got a sms with a WhatsApp code coming from the number +27 84 000 1200, very strange, don't know what I can do. Very paranoid, definitely a scam.

This number called at 4am, I live in SoCal. Nice going silkworms. Referring number to nomo's sheet lish.

They called again before 9am on Sunday. I have left my fax machine on this week as robocalls and call centers getting through N***R*** have been relentless. I picked the phone up after they didn't hang up after the fax machine was going for several more rings. It was a robo voice saying "SITKA SITKA" or "DITKA DITKA". It wasn't English unless they were talking about a town in Alaska or a football related name. Will report to N***R*** again.

Emailed the company with the only email address I could find. Got an automated reply. Ten to one they don't even answer my email at all. I even found complaints about this number on a German website. It seems to be a world wide problem with calls at all hours from an automated system. Most complain that they did not apply to the app. It this a way to verify phone hacks?

got 3 calls between 10:42pm and 11:05pm. Only rang once so I know it is on the free call blockers SHEET LIST.
