Recieved a call from 973-368-9700, a New Jersey area code at 11:17pm. I know no one in NJ and have not apply for any jobs in over a year, this has the nasty smell scam all over it.
I received a similar call, with just enough poorly pronounced phrases that kept me on the line, as I am in the process of submitting some re-credentialing material to an agency which outsources their work..BTW their people are always very clear and appropriate...I did a google of Cognizant Technology Solutions, home based in New Jersey ...That person seemed surprised, but very professional,At my suggestion she did a "google" on the same number 973-368-9700 and saw all the negative feedback on this site. She admitted that was one of their overseas extensions, and would look into it...I suggest that as many as possible call this place, if in fact it is legitimate, someone may be abusing their status at the off shore call center...Thanks for posting this..
This a SCAM and not the the real Cognizant. Do not waste your time and if you did talk to them then contact the FBI like I did.
Cognizant.It's an Idian IT outsourcing firm. My advice would be to not even bother talking to them. Incompetent morons.
Cognizant is one of the IT consulting firm based in New Jersey. The reason for the untimely calls is likely due to the 11.5 hour offset in time zone. They will usually call to provide support to a customer. If they call you unsolicited they may have had the wrong number provided them or simply mistyped the number they intended to call. Another possibility could be a recruiter calling. If you are looking for work and have posted a resume online, they could be recruiting you. Work through the language barrier. They are one of the largest IT consulting firms out there today and they are weathering the recession storm. They pay well and are a great organization to be a part of.
I got a c all from this number yesterday (+19733 689700) poor audibility, but sounded male Indian, pretty sure he said Cognizant too. have worked with some C resources last year, but no idea why they would be ringing. NOT going to ring back - not applied for any jobs with them and wont be either. If its important enough, they can ring me back (their phone bill not mine).
