The caller tells me he is calling from Micro!?soft!? technical support and that they had noticed suspicious activity on my computer and that he would like to investigate it with me. So he walks me through looking at certain files on my computer to demonstrate how bad the situation is and then he asks me to allow him to have access to my computer over the internet. That's when I tell him I know it's a scam and that by playing along I hope I saved someone else from being stung. He hung up.

Just call a call from same number.I saw it on my caller id and left it ring.My location is Ireland

Some Indian guy rings on a Saturday morning claiming to be from Eircom reporting on a virus on my computer system. Tried to get my mother to give her credit card details, place of birth, email address etc and even wanted e-mail account. She even gave her date of birth. They said that they were going to send out a technician and it would cost 10 euro and so they needed credit card details. Crazy stuff, she flopped and gave the details unfortunately. Thankfully, the Western Union got involved and stopped the money taken from the account. They are extremely persistent and attempt to get you to download cheap software, that's their ploy.

They've changed tact, now saying from Eircom, a girl saying I had an issue on my computer, I asked how did she know this, she said open it and I will go through it with you, I said what computer, I don't have one, she hung up ! Wonder are they being paid double time for bank holidays #annoying

Getting loads of calls from this number DONT ANSWER. Numbers you don't know

Just after getting call from this number. Did not answer, nor will I if they ring again, going by earlier posts.

15.05pm today. A call from this number, Indian gentleman saying he was from windows technical service dept regarding my computer. I didn't say anything and he hung up. I was amazed that they left a number behind them at all! I live in IE

I see I have had a call from 0098326595. Luckily I have a call blocker installed which automatically stops such calls, and this is a godsend, as you no longer need to answer them, and in fact they never ring so you don't know anything about it. Therefore there is no chance of sensitive information like credit card details being given away by Grandma or whoever! The only time you see who has called is when you look at the call log. This call was recorded as coming from Iran.

My other half just received a call from this number, claiming to be from eircom, when she refused to give details the male caller threatened he would rape her, terrifying experience. Reported to Gardai, nothing they can do, so I've been googling, number originates in Iran. Hope they got the coordinates for a heavy air strike...
