Exactly - Do not answer at all - Don't know if they are coming from overseas and then you get a charge on your Phone bill for some extraordinary amount!! I never answer a number (even if it a US number) that I do not recognize. These people should be outlawed - I have been getting them lately (two or three times a day) I just don't answer! I don't answer 888, 866 or even 800 numbers anymore! I'm tired of getting the Telemarketers.
Unknown caller when I answered....just silence and they hung up....after reading some posts I relized this guy called months ago about my computer wanting me to change settings on my computer..when I refused he started swearing. The accent was hard to understand. I just hung up
This also could be EGYPT - I looked up the Country codes and normally it is preceded by a 1 + 20 = EGYPT
I can tell you how we can get these calls stopped, cancell your phone service, use cell phone service only from another company, the phone company know when these calls are going out but they want to sell you a service for something they can fix for no cost, if enough people cancell they will get it fixed
As others have stated, an area code can NOT begin with a 1. If your phone firewall supports it, add it as a block filter.
Just a call from this number. I have a blocker so they just hang up. I try to call them back to see if the call is actually legit. It's not... the recording says this number is not in service. SO, that means the scammer is using a fake # ID. Someone is trying to scam us.... Imagine that?
called at 7AM asking for the "main person" who used computer in the household. Said they were from Microsoft and that a computer was sending "very bad" codes and was involved with 3 bank robberies in Sun City Ca. Provided a bogus Windows license ID trying to convince me that it was a legitimate call form the Microsoft IT dept. Even did the "let me transfer" you to my supervisor gig. Complete BS scammer call from India. just put em on hold a few minutes said I was turning my PC on and then hung up.

Comes up in my phone as a medical clinic, but when I called them they're some business that supposedly works with Medicare? I'm too young for medicare. Scam call.
Sounds like a potential call center scam.
Said they were from Bank of America calling me about a fraud alert on my account. When I told them I do not have an account with B o A - they hung up on me. Ironic!
They said it's a business call from northern light. Not real and clearly spam. Northern light must have its phone numbers data leaked.
Called today and left no message. No caller ID, so I did not pick up the call.
