holy cr@p, I just got the same call. Didn't answer tho cause was busy. I tried calling back but its like disconnected or something. Weird. It just came to me to search the area code and I found this thread. Pretty spooky O_o
Just got a missed call from this number. Can't call it back. For some reason, This phone gets alot of calls from spanish speaking people. Perhaps we need to change the phone number.
Really weird... My wife and I both got a call from this number, seconds apart, two different cell phones?We did not answer. WTF?
If you accept whatever it is they're offering, they use that call to use your line to connect people on overseas calls... then you get the bill for calls to Mexico, Philippines...they used to use this trick on my company line which is a call center and you usually need to accept the calls...I think now they started using cell phone lines - TMobile especially to try and connect these people in...
called several times -- i blocked it from my cell now - no message left - btw when i checked my blocked # there is a Mississippi # that is also blocked for the same reason - also ending in 8989
They just called me today at school I did not answer it but the message which sounded like a recording was in some other language I didnt call it back eather since it sounded fishy to me :/

I didn't recognize the number so I obviously was checking to see who it was
The person called to verify employment of someone, but I didn't recognize the person's name. The caller had an accent, and I couldn't understand them. I didn't call back to let them know they had reached a wrong number.

Unsolicited call. Wanted me to complete my "voter profile." I've voted from this address for over 20 years.
It happened to me they got into my computer and got all bank info they took over $4000. from me left me with nothing. Don't trust anyone this was a setup.
