A heavily accented man named "Officer Melvin" called our home about a "tax evasion" problem. We were asked to call back & talk with them about this "incident" before they issued an arrest warrant. We could then learn more about the "lawsuit and who filed." This was obviously a scam; we did not call back.

Same message today. The dude sounds middle eastern. The phone call was obviously from a cell phone with poor reception and/or he was driving at the time - lots of static and garbled words. Having been audited by the IRS decades ago, facilitated through a Certified Letter, I knew from "GO" it was a scam.

Caller left message that he was officer Melvin Betic and that there was a warrant for our arrest because of tax evasion and to call for more details - Sounds like a SCAM to me!!!!!

Got the same call. It was comical. I'll get right on it Officer Mel. I love how he says "and have a great day" after he informs you that you are being sued for tax evasion!! A real class act that Officer Mel!!!

Caller claims to be from IRS and their is a warrant out for my arrest and to call the number. What kind of SCAM is this?
