Hi,The only way to "block" incoming calls on a land-line is to have a phone that is capable of blocking AND you have the services such as call-waiting, call-forward, etc. through your phone server. To my knowledge there is only one maker of wireless home phones that allows blocking and that is Panasonic. There are many models and can allow from 10 blocked number slots up to 150. Our home phone is the Panasonic KX-TGA680 and allows for 150 numbers to be blocked. Between scam artists, telemarketers, and political polls mine has filled up already but what I believe it does is block on the back end, and erase on the front end so you don't have to go back and delete anything to free up space. We're pretty happy with ours, it is music to your ears when the phone rings one time then, BAM..."call blocked" pops up.Hope this helps.
Loser Telemarketer Trash,To crooked and lazy to get real jobs,Easier to try to steal working peoples Money, pond scum...........
I googled Mossbacher Properties and found their main #, which I called. They are a legitimate property mgmt company in NY whose phone lines have been hacked by these jerky spammers. The lady I spoke with was very kind, and at the same time, very frustrated bcz one of their lines was hacked and she's receiving nasty phone calls from people who were contacted by the scammers.Caller ID spoofing is becoming more and more prevalent.Just don't answer and definitely do not call the # back. The Do Not Call registry isn't ignoring our complaints, they are just so inundated with complaints daily that there is only so much they can do. Keep submitting complaints. You can block the # but they will just call back from another # in another area code. I received a call five times today already about the 'free medic alert bracelet' that I was eligible for.
I use a free service at youmail.comWhen a number rings that I do not recognize I do not answer. Then I go to youmail.com to see if they left a message. I check various places like this to see if anyone found who is calling. If it is a telemarketer or someone I don't want to speak with I save the call on youmail.com as a contact and then use the "ditch" option. Mine answers with "number disconnected" but there are many other messages you can use for this caller or any calls you want answered. At Christmas I use "Santa Baby" etc. You can record your own message or use music. All free.
There are more steps to stopping these unwanted calls than just registering with the National Do Not Call list. You have to file a complaint each time someone calls you. They get charged a fine for each call they make. Once they get pinged a few times they stop calling because they don't want to pay the fines.
There probably is no such person as "Emil Mosbacher." These people can make any name and number appear on caller-ID, including your own home number with your names. Has happened to me several times. This was a "Hello, Seniors!!" call.
As above caller with name of Emil Mosbacher called me today around noon, i did not answer phone, caller did not leave message. Have a call block i pay for but it kept saying i entered the number incorrectly, i did not!! And am on the do not call list, but seems it does not matter these days!!
Katie your response was well written but I refuse to lie and die, I will continue to block these numbers , I picked up a new Panasonic phone system with the call blocking , you can block single numbers or blanket block area codes or calls that don't have info i.e.: private or out of area calls and I turned off the first ring feature. I agree as long as we maintain land lines this will be a problem, with the call blocking phones and devices you can minimize the problem to a livable level. then take them one at a time.
