Not sure, don't remember if I was on my cell or not. I am not able to block on my landline, would love to be able to. Just received another call it is an advertisement for that thing you hang around your neck, Lifeline. They start talking before the message has even completed. I am able to block on my cell, however, it can be complicated. If I don't recognize the number or if there is no name then I simply don't answer and let it go to voice mail. Most calls are from an 800 number anyway.

The call is about a product called Lifeline, it has been advertised on TV, however, how are they getting a number that is on a Do Not Call List? They have to be buying our numbers from some company, problem is finding out which one it might be.

The caller abandoned the attempt after three rings. I did not pick it up.

Are you sure you're on a "land-line" and not a VoIP phone line? I found that after switching my AT&T POTS line to a VoIP line I started getting bombarded with spam calls, some even hi jacked my own phone number to use in calling me. Many, for a while, was from the number "000-0001" which isn't a valid number. Also, depending on her your provider is, you may or may not be able to get decent service in dealing with these kind of annoying calls.

I got a call from this number. I didn't recognize the number so I DID NOT answer. Alot of times these are robocalls. Automatic dialers looking for active numbers with the intent of selling something. They just want to verify that the number belongs to someone they can talk to. If you don't answer, they can't do that. If it is a legitimate call from someone looking for YOU, they will leave a message, (of course you have to have an answering machine), It is a good investment and saves alot of worry. But you might receive a call from that number again. Be consistent---- don't answer unless you recognize the number.

I have a Panasonic and one of the great features is that I can load up to 35 numbers to block. The phone does not even ring. The federal no call list is worthless.

I have received many calls from this number on my cell phone recently - I've put it under auto reject but they still end up leaving a voice mail for Medic Alert. I wish there was a way to REJECT these robocalls from voice mail...
