I just got this call on my cell phone. I didn't get to the phone in time, but before I could call the number back, the phone rang again. Got the whole speech about the 9K grant that I didn't have to pay back, and then asked if I was wondering how I qualified. I told her I didn't, and that I wasn't interested. She actually said "thank you, bye" and hung up. Tried calling the number back, and got a Verizon recording saying that the number had "been changed, disconnected or no longer in service". Hopefully no one will fall for this mess.
Got a call from this number, too. Woman with an accent (possibly Indian?) began talking in broken English. She said she was calling from the United States, which immediately made me think she was not. After a few unsuccessful seconds of trying to make sense of what she was saying, I hung up.
I just recieved a call from this # promising me $9,000 free government grant. I told her I could not understand her and she repeated the $9,000 grant line again. I told her the government does not give out free money and she hung up.
Got a call on my cell phone...which is a number I DO NOT give out except to family. My plan has only a few minutes...I don't get free phone and free minutes like some people. So, if I had answered it, it would charge against my minutes. Thank you all for your post. It lets me know I did not miss some emergency call.
I was actually tryn to listen to the dumb sob over all the noise on the job. N dude jus said Ok F U then n hung up on me.... Wooow!!!
I did not answer either and came here to look up. Funny thing I was just online on site fro school grants. Got my info which was email. Then I got the call while I was waiting for the site to load my options. I think they used my email to get my number. There IS a data bank that has your email and phone number. ie Walgreens and those discount cards you carry on your keychain? They must use the same because when Walgreens wanted me to get their discount card they asked for my number and it pulled up my email and address. Scarey
My best friend just told me about a telemarketer that called her and she couldn't understand him and asked him to repeat what he said then he cursed her not. Not 5 minutes later I got a call from this number and all he said was Hello, hello, hello. I texted her and turns out it was the same guy that had just called her.
Recieved a call from this number 2 months ago and again today. First time they called they gave me their "Loyal Citizen who has never applied for assistance" reason for me being offered a $9,000 grant. I told her the first time that I prefer to work for my money that's why I've never applied for assistance and I would not accept it, that she should find someone who needs assistance if she was giving money away. When I got the call today I told the lady that I didn't have proof of citizenship and that she probably meant to be calling the homeless lady that I lifted this cell phone from. Both times she politely said thank you and then hung up.It's apparently an out of country call center. Blocked the number this time.
Got that same call saying i was given a federal grant in the amount of $9,000.00, i asked them how do i know this isn't a scam, you talk to Saron Leymond and give her your confirmation #, when you call this # 202-738-1352, she will tell you you need to western union $200.00, Scam Scam Scam, do not give out your information!!!
