This person "special investigator" did not say where they were calling from, how do I file a complaint against them?

My husband received a call on December 27 from 240-483-4601 stating it was a call from an aubitration officer attempting to collect a debt. The caller informed my husband that I had 30 days to pay a debt of $6,000 or I would be facing a 1-3 year jail sentence. When I called the number back that showed on my caller ID I spoke with a guy that said his name was Scott Goalin. He stated to me that I had to pay him $1,000 to find out what type of dept that I supposedly had. I informed him that I had no such dept and I would contact my attorney regarding the matter. He stated if I did contact my attorney I would have to pay $6,000 within thirty days or go to jail.

bunch o collection crooks using illegal tactics, they run this out of a number that is registered as a residential number.When asked for an address or company name they refused to comply, I have reported them to the FTC, Maryland AG and the FBI. I suggest anyone else who is contacted by them to do the same!

This number called my elderly father couple of days ago, left a msg claiming to be a superior court. When he called back, they asked for SSN and then told him it was the wrong person. Does anyone know if they engage in identity theft too? or was it just an errant collection.

This turd has called my husband twice and doled out some threats about going to court and jail over an old debt. Frankly I'm tired of it. Thanks for the info on where to report! It's been a great help! :)

I got a call from this place too regarding the same as everyone has listed. I will also report these people as well.

maybe you should learn to spell and learn topay your bills, credit makes the world go round, you should go to jail for not paying bills after this long, be an adult! if i gave you 10 grand 15 years ago, you would still want me to pay you back right?? why doesnt anyone see this?
