I have received numerous calls from this number and you can not call them back because it says the number is not in service. I tried hanging up and each time I go back on the phone, the recording is still going on and on. It does not disconnect when I hang up. I am getting fed up with these calls. I am on the DO NOT CALL list and if I get any more calls from them, I am calling the CRTC to report them.
Credit card scam: recorded message says it's your second and last warning to lower your credit card interest rate. When you get through to a live operator, they want to know which cards you have, and then they want to verify the last 8 digits on the card. That's strange they say, it doesn't match what they have on file! So then they ask for the first 8 digits on the card, to verify. Of course, this now gives them the full 16 digit credit card number! I wasted a few minutes of their 'operators' time with bogus information, then told him politely to go phuk himself! These lowlifes need to be crushed like the bugs they are.
I have received many calls from this number and when I ask to be removed from their list they hang up. Before you get to speak to anyone you must press 1, perhaps it would be a good idea to pretend to be interested and give them some false info, keep asking questions about their interest rates etc , tell them a long made up story about problems with your credit card and just generally waste their time. Maybe this way they will choose not to call back any more. This is the way I plan to handle the next call I get. If you have the time and the inclination to do this and encourage anyone else you know who is getting these calls we can make things difficult for the caller.
The registering phone company (Telus or Shaw) should be fined for these unwanted and unsolicited calls from these numbers. They sell the phone numbers to soliciting/telemarketer phone companies.
aug 29 540pm got the call. pressed one, told the guy he was working for criminals. he hung up. they say they represent visa and m/c.
I have received numerous calls on my home phone from this number. When I reached an operator I asked to be removed from the list. I was told "no." I said, "yes, I want you to remove this number." The guy said (unbelievably) "no means no." Then he hung up on me. Today I received the same call at my office where I have call display. That led me to this website. I will now report this number to the Do Not Call registry, although I'm not optimistic that any action will stop this harassment.
