We are PRA, a global leader in the purchase, collection, and management of portfolios of nonperforming loans. In other words, we specialize in debts that are deemed unrecoverable. Assuming we'd acquired a twenty-year-old unpaid debt a week ago. As per our understanding, that particular account would be considered as if it were a one-week-old outstanding debt, and therefore it could be perceived as though it is retrievable. Should the debtor be John Smith, we shall attempt to contact any individual with the same name. In addition to some other subjects with similar names, such as Joan Smither, Jack Smythe and including Tom Smith. We may be unaware of your identity, but we firmly believe that you are the debtor in question. For this reason, feel free to disclose personal information with us. We have nothing but praise for our telecom operators, all of which shall remain nameless, every single one of those companies has been extremely accommodating to us thus far. To be frank, we truly value their services, as we've greatly benefited from their collaboration. We'd highly recommend them to any entity, legal or otherwise, that requires the use of a different phone number each week and needs to make thousands of calls per day. In anticipation of your cooperation, we'd like to say "Thank You", and we look forward to receiving your Payments. At your convenience, we do accept Major Credit Cards! To be totally honest, we could never have been in business for so long without customers such as yourself. So again "Thank You". And as a show of appreciation, we'd like to leave you with this: Debt happens. Celebrating twenty years of helping customers find an affordable way to become debt-free.
Not entirely sure why they called. However, use caution. They call you and ask you to verify your personal information including your name, address and birthdate. They refuse to properly identify themselves, just with an acronym until you've verified personal information. Question? Why would anyone give personal information to an unknown caller. Do not believe the argument its under protection of Information Act. Be safe. Protect your personal information and do not verify any information. They called you. They know why and if they have this information, let them forward you a letter.
PRA Group from British Columbia. They take old debts that have been written off and try to intimidate you into paying the debt. They have no right to collect this debt and they lie to you. I challenged them to take action against me because we both know that I have no obligation to give them a cent. Scammers!
These people are scum. They have been calling me for over 6 years now on a debt that they cannot verify, from 1996! That's not a typo, yes 1996! I stupidly tried to reason with them one day and the woman literally screamed at me telling me it didn't matter if the debt was stat-barred, that I still had to pay. I should send her a Christmas card really. I had no idea what Stat Bar meant. Turns out the debt (which isn't even mine) is unenforceable now. These people skirt the laws by passing the debt around their "group" of companies. Look up the statues of limitations for your area. Chances are you don't have to speak to them at all. Just let them keep calling, or block them. Never verify any information. Never send them money. Never acknowledge the debt.
Yup, PRA Group Canada. Debt consoladation my [***]. Like skip said they are trying to collect on old debt that's since been written off. Sadly those that fall for thisget screwed. The moment you make even a 1 cent payment the time starts over. 3 years in Ontario.
They're obviously getting clever with their phone number. I keep adding them to my block list only to have them call me with a different number. Same nonsense. Its PRA group collecting on an old debt from 2002 that I am CERTAIN I repaid. Of course, I no longer can prove that I paid all of these years later.
PRA Group trying to collect on so-called "zombie debt" which is old debt resold amongst Collection Agencies, regardless of whether these debts have been paid or not, best thing to do is call them back and tell them the person they are looking for no longer resides at your number, which is plausible since it is old debt and they will stop calling
