I received a call from this number at 1:06 p.m. today but the caller ID said it was "Info Survey". They are getting sneaky, aren't they. I did not answer the call.
Ya just received an automated call from this number. Nothing Urgent on my Credit card but would like to reduce my interest rate when i press "1". So I did. They asked for my date of birth, the expiry and the ALL 16 numbers on my credit card. Told me they were from Visa head office. They were going to reduce my interest rate to 5 %. When I gave them the first 2 and the last 4 numbers and told them they should have the rest he went away for a minute and came back asking for the the last 8. I hung up.
This unwanted number 269-224-9029 was just so annoying. First of all, how would they know I needed to reduce my credit card interest. There's no way of opting out because they just don't give you the option to remove your number. So I stayed on the line and pressed 1 to wait for a rep. When the rep came to the phone, she was so enthusiastic in greeting me by saying " I know you're interested.....", but then I told her I'm NOT interested and just remove my contact number from your list. Of course she hung up on me right away. These scammers..................
I received a call from 1- 269-224-9029, few times, do not answer. I live in Canada. These people are creeps!! How come there is nothing we can do to stop this harassment??
Another call from this number. Sorry, guys not fallin for it!Thanks again 800 notes. So nice to google the number calling and find out what they are up to!
269-224-9029 is one of at least 25 different number that these credit card scammers use. Their numbers and caller IDs vary from day to day. Most often they call themselves Card Services and promise a lower interest rate for your credit card. But they are just scammers trying to get your credit card number. They have been calling my landline number several times a week for over 9 years. Back when they first started calling I would answer their calls and tell them that I was not interested and to please remove my number from their call list. That was about nine years ago and they still call almost daily. I have not answered one of their calls since 2007 ....and they continue to call. I estimate that they have called my number over 2000 times in the last nine years ... "without an answer". And still they call daily. Looks like for efficiency purposes they would delete numbers from their lists after they have called them several thousand times without an answer. The calls are originating in India, so there is nothing the US Government can do to stop them. The only way to temporarily stop the calls is to change your phone number. But once they get your new number, from surveys or contest entries, the calls will start all over again. They "must" be finding people who fall for the scam, or they would not still be calling after 9 years. Just try and let your family and friends know about these idiots so they won't fall for their scam..
