They called me a couple days ago and when I picked up it was a recording about the warranty being expired on my car.... I don't own a car. I just hung up.
this is stupid. they called me twice and i dont need to be tracked. i havent had my phone for long either, and i dont even own a car!!! why would anyone want to call anyone for such stupid reasons in the first place??
yeh me too got a call...they said this is the second notice that your car warrenty will expire...freaked me out cuz i never got a first...and my car is a year and a half old I have a 5 year warrenty ...anyways hung up called back number is disconnected....so [***] number.,...
The car warranty thing is a scam because I'm 17 and my pays for my car an her last name is different than mine and my fiancée pays for my phone so the two are unrelated. They would be calling my mom if that was true.

I work in the automotive business, This is a normal scam looking for people who's warranty has run out. They don't know you have a car. they don't even know if you drive. And they are not working for government. This is just a simple scam. The recording saying the number is disconnected prevents you from reporting them. You think the number is now disconnected, so someone else must have reported them. Right? Wrong. They just move on to the next number. The recording belongs to them. Just to throw you off and keep from being reported. It works too. Look how long they've been doing this. All works on human nature that we believe what we hear and are too lazy to report them if we believe someone else already has.
I just got a call from this number too (Ontario, Canada). Funny, we've been getting lots of calls about our 'car warranty about to expire' on our home number in the last month. Seems they're related...

Got the same thing DM1 reported. So, I just blocked the number and reported it to my phone carrier.
