Called claiming to be calling about our Verizon account, but we are on AT&T...Reeks of scam, but 800notes does not allow proper notation of scam calls so had to label as a "prank call"...(p.s. if it really was Verizon don't you think they would have realized the number they're calling is not within their system, but belongs to a competitor?)

It is a fraud number I verified it with Verizon. They do not call from local numbers and the greeting isn't the correct one. DO NOT CALL ITS FRAUD.

When you call it answers then asks for your pin. Whatever you do do not enter it! Sorry for multiple messages, but I hate fraudsters

Its Verizon reminding you to make the promised payment or that you are late in paying. Answer it. The Verizon folks are polite and helpful. They'll work with you.

Sorry . . don't trust it period. I never pay bills over the phone period. Especially when there's no tie to Verizon with this phone number. I reaerched the phone number. Red flag there.

Interesting deduction skills, plus you are a bill collection wizard. I am sorry, but you are quite wrong. This number happens to be a long-time number with the actual “Verizon Wireless.” As others have said, they will call from this number if a payment arrangement was made, but the customer didn’t pay as promised. However, if you follow a personal belief that legitimate bill collectors only use 800 numbers, then ignore all collectors using local numbers, and just like that, you are in less debt than you though!! Many companies have switched collections to local numbers due to the fact people like you will simply not answer them..

Could be it is Verizon calling, if you've scheduled a payment and did not make it, they'll call. Verizon's customer service folks are some of the best. They will hear you out and will try to help you. Not all companies trying to collect are A--holes. I've had no problems with them.

This is a scam. Do not give your personal information to this "Verizon" person. If Verizon were to call you it would be an 800 number of some kind. These random local numbers keep calling me, and I keep blocking them because the actual Verizon wireless told me not to give them my information. And if your curious if it is a local store, its not. They are not allowed to access your information without you being in the store.
