Why can't we get the hackers to do some good and prevent people who make such calls? this is the 2nd time Ive got a call from 304-263-5785 in WV to lower my interest rates by automated message and then the call goes dead when I don't push "1." Seems to me this is abuse of a public good - the telephone.
I have received 12 calls in total from this # on my work phone (annoying to say the least) don't they ever give up. I have never answered and they have never left a message. Because it is a work phone I have not wanted to block the #, now that I see it is nothing more than a scammer I will be blocking it. I find this site useful, thank you everyone.
Everyone posting here is correct. These numbers are spoofed and do not belong to the person to whom they are officially listed. Like everyone else, I've had calls come in from me to own my phone, so I guess they hope we'll be curious enough to answer. The one thing that has not been addressed is that many of these calls are coming from outside the U.S. Because they change their web addresses and, consequently, their "routing" constantly, it is almost impossible for our security/law enforcement folks to catch them and halt the calling. Ignoring unrecognized calls is the best most of us can do for now, but I'm wondering the the cell/phone companies need to take some responsibility for this mess by giving call rejection as a standard feature as in something automatically included without a fee. Based upon my experience, I would say a bank of about 100 call rejected numbers might be sufficient. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
I just got a call from this unknown number in West Virginia. I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer, they left a message reference credit card debt over $4,000.00 and press a number to talk to a live operator. I did a web search for the number which brought me to this site. Other websites have this listed as a spammer for cardholder services, so don't answer it.
Just got a call from this number, Googled it, and following the advice to report it. The best thing I can do is push REJECT on my phone when I don't recognize a number
robocall from 304-263-5785 caller ID said "UNKNOWN NAME" on Wednesday 04-01-15 @ 600 PMPhone rang twice and I answered. It was the familiarly disgusting voice "Hello Seniors...........press 1......."so pressed 1 right away and the call went dead and then disconnected. If they do not want to talk to me why are they calling?? just to harass. They are chicken 'cause they know they will get the "SCAMMER AIRHORN" that is why !!!
