I have been getting calls from this number daily. I tried to call the number back and it says it is out of service. I have my number on the national do not call registry...it appears this doesn't work...? That's just great
if you have a smartphone, download the app Call Blocker+ , this app will block the call once you add it to your call blacklist, and they will not even get through again, the app will answer and hang up on them
Call started with "Hello fellow seniors..." I hung up. Obvious scam or marketer of some sort.
Called and no one spoke. Adding them to my reject list...about the only redeeming feature on my dumb smart phone.
Unfortunately, their computerized calling list consists of consecutive numbers, (for instance 111-111-1111 to 111-999-9999) and it just adds 1 and calls the next. The computers just call numbers, not specific people so they don't know who they are calling and you cannot get off of any list as long as you have any number at all. I have heard of people using a recording of the "doo-doo-dee - the number you have reached is not in service" message that plays whenever their phone answers so that computerized, automated callers will mark their number as a bad number and not waste time calling it in the future, but this may not actually work at all. It might be worth a try though, as long as you tell your friends, family, bosses etc. what to expect so they stay on the line and wait to actually talk with you after the recording is done. Also, several phones will let you block whole area codes (or all numbers that start with what you put in) so you could put in all area codes except the ones you want to get calls from and anyone who matters can still leave a voice mail if their number accidentally gets filtered out; scammers don't bother to leave voice mail.
This is one of the new scams by these maggots, where there is the 'old guy' voice saying, "Hello, seniors.." - they do multiple scams other than credit card. You would think that, because they are so prolific over such a long period of time, that the FBI would catch them and close them down. The big question is only why the FBI doesn't.
