Really sick of this! I keep getting calls even when I remove myself. I would love to sue them into a nice side street flat complete with cardboard box, and Friskies buffet!

I got so tired of being ignored on a no call list, asking to be taken off of call lists etc.. none of that works.. what I found does work... I got an answering machine and the message these jerks get to hear is... The number you have dialed is no longer in service if you think you've gotten this message in error, please hang up and try again later.... lol... if they think it's been turned off, you get your number taken off.. my BS calls have gone from 20 a day to a couple a week... nothing else ever worked

Not only do they call but the one time I answered the guy started talking DIRTY to me and now I get this call DAILY!! I no longer answer but I see the number on caller id.

1) Law enforcement is not bothering with this. Whether they have resources or not.2) Call blocking is becoming less and less effective since the scammers constantly change numbers.3) Best bet is for a comprehensive teleco protocol that would require validation of incoming calls. How that would be established, written and enforced is up to the techies.4) Legal issues on "free speech," and "equal and public access" will have to be carefully worked out as part of the prohibition of both spoofing and spamming.

Really, your question is easy to answer. The person is trying to say state senators.

While there are a few so-called telephone companies that issue blocks of numbers, many of these calls are DID VoIP internet originated calls. As of the moment, nothing to do to stop these. These rogue phone companies legally maintain their businesses, claiming that they a) are not responsible for the actions of their customers, and b) they are unaware of criminal activities their customers may practice.

This # calls daily, sometimes two or three times a day. Noone is there. Nothing is said. Then after about 10 seconds it disconnects.

...and if the phone number is spoofed? How can a local telco stop a call out of its control and jurisdiction unless ALL the telcos develop an integrated plan to deal with this?
