Said they were from Liberty Mutual asking about a patient we have never seen and how long we keep our records.
called and asked about a patient which didnt have any record of this patient and then asked how long we keep our records. at this point i stopped answering questions and got a direct line to call. very suspicious.
Calls to find out what kind of office you have & gives you your address; asks about getting patient information; I explained I would not disclose any patient information without proper HIPPA documentation; they ask for a fax number; they originally called on the fax line which tells them the fax didn't go through & gives the office line if they are trying to make an appointment; they never sent a fax
They wanted to know how long we keep medical records and faxed over fake documents for a patient we have never seen
Call to ask if a patient has been here and how long did we keep our medical records! Very rude when I explained could not give out information, they slammed the phone down
called asking the same question over and over, not answering who they are or what they want. when I wouldn't give them any info. they hung up. phone number ID is from st. louis, mo.
they have a patients name dob and social and address!! But stated they are from sedgwick ins company ( which they are not) and I told them we can not give any confirmation or denial if this is a patient of ours as they can not give me enough proper information regarding sedgwick.
Called from this # which shows up from St. Louis posing as a Cincinnati Ins Co. inquiring about a particular patient (had pts dob & was offering their SS#). Stated it was a mutual pt seen in our office on a certain date.I didn't have info readily available so they promptly called back in 30 min. The person they were looking for(s) name was very familiar (due to the fact I do Medical Billing from home for several doctors offices) but we didn't have a patient by the name they were looking for.The caller then asked how far back our records went.Calling the number back it rings up to Intertel which does business for Insurance Companies (so they stated). They are a 3rd party Medical Canvassing Svs

FAX MACHINE CALLING
This number keeps calling me. The message they leave is like a clicking sound. No one speaks. Very odd. I’m blocking this number

My calls were being forwarded to this number and I have no idea how it happened.
They hung up. In the last ten days I've had unauthorized credit card charges and an identity theft related to a Medicare fraud case. I suspect this is related.

Medicredit I believe possibly is scam/fraud calls involving medical insurance, medicare. Courts WILL decide !!
